FROM MY DESK TO YOUR HANDS:
"A LONG WALK TO AN OVER RATED
ENDEAVOR CALLED -EDUCATION"
I am a strong
believer in the saying that every journey is more important than the
destination because without the journey, you may never get to your destination,
whereas the destination justifies the relevance importance of the journey. With
this in mind, I wish to point out that many of us started our journey or quest
for education with diverse opinions about the destination. The reason is
because it is a transitional journey with one way street but two sets of travelers
- one is from High School to University, the other is from University to the
World (From Learning to Earning) which is the most difficult aspects of our
journey in life.
According to Prof. Abioye Isaac of Olabisi Onabanjo University "Academic excellence is overrated! Did I just say that? Oh, yes, I said it. Being top of your class does not necessarily guarantee that you will be at the top of life. You could graduate as the best student in Finance but it doesn't mean you will make more money than everybody else. The best graduating Law student does not necessarily become the best lawyer. The fact is life requires more than just the ability to understand a concept; memorize it and reproduce it in an exam.

School rewards
people for their memory. Life rewards people for their imagination. School
rewards caution, life rewards daring, those who dare to discover and takeover
uncharted territories. School hails those who live by the rules (Status
Quo). Life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones. So do I mean
people shouldn't study hard in school? Oh, no, you should. But don't sacrifice
every other thing in life on the altar of First Class”.
All I'm saying is, Don't limit yourself to the classroom, Do something practical, Take a leadership position, Start a business and fail, that's a better Entrepreneurship 101, Join or start a club, Contest an election and lose, It will teach you something Political Science 101 will not teach you. Attend a seminar, or workshop, or symposium or even a talent show, Read books outside the scope of your course, Go on missions and win a soul for eternal reward...the point is just for you not to limit yourself to one area of life. The moment you begin to understand the binary nature of life, you will start doing something you believe in because it is better to know little of everything than to know too much of one thing.
Think less of becoming an excellent student but think more of becoming an excellent person. “Make the world your classroom!" In our society today, most people transcend into this transition without adequate preparation due to lack of proper and useful information about the life that awaits them after graduation.
Well, think no more because - The "Be In Demand" College Colloquium - has been doped to equip all participants in different levels in different area of interests with the required Information, Education, Impartation, Motivation, Inspiration for Entrepreneurial Thinking Attitudes plus a little entertainment. Remember, "Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think" = Albert Einstein =
Finally, I wish to note that attending school is not just about gaining admission or conducting all night classes to pass exams or to graduate from college, it's an entirely new journey that most people could see only when they have graduated or about to graduate. It's a transition that will stretch you beyond your limits, shape you beyond your expectations, bend you against your will and transcend you beyond your measures. Dr. Ben Carson noted the importance of wisdom when he said "While wisdom dictates the need for education, education does not necessarily make one wise" A wise man learns from his own mistakes, a wiser man learns from the mistakes of others but the wisest of them all learns from the success of others...choose ye these day which you shall be because this conference is here to give you the only life building tool that you need to survive anything in this life which is the unquantifiable power of the intangible through our Behavior Change Communication (BCC)
